The J Smithin at the funeral may well have been Joseph Smithin 1857-1930 who rented a farm 
in Cleeve Prior part of which was owned by an Adkins so maybe that is the connection.

There were several Adkins families either owning land or renting farms in the area south to 
south west of Stratford upon Avon in the 19th and early 20th centuries. It is therefore 
possible that Joseph Smithin's landlord was a completely different Adkins family.
